OK...I was wondering what your greatest fear is. Mine would have to be dying. I dont wanna die. I mean its gonna happen one day but I wanna die at an old age, peacefully. I dont wanna suffer.....Anyways what about you guys?
I think everyone's afraid of dying, it's only natural. I think at least on my campus the big fear is rape. I mean, it's not going to happen, and we live in a very safe area, but when you're walking across campus alone at night... there are an awful lot of shadows.

My biggest fears are losing all my possesions, having no money and being alone for the rest of my life.
Dying doesn't scare me.

It's not death itself that scares me. I know there's a Heaven. It's dying before I've had a chance to really live that frightens me.

I'm not sure what my biggest fear is.

I have many fears...no way to name my biggest one.

My biggest fear is to be a failure and never have any reason to be alive. Just to be one of those people that only get in the way of everyone and everything.
I'm not afraid of dying. In fact the only thing that keeps me from not killing myself is knowing that someday I will die on my own.

Actually, there's more.
As long as no one makes fun of me (I get enough at home), dogs and cats scare me to death. Really. I've always been scared of them and they know it, so they always walk up to me first.

Ugh.... this year I entered a speach contest for the re-dedication of my school, and so I just entered to see if I could win, ya know? So I didn't think I would win but then I win and I'm thinking "OMG. I hafta read this?!?" So the day of the cerimony all them news people were here with the Mayor, State Reps, Senators, blah blah blah. I read the speach fine until the last line and then I got so choaked up I stuttered and messed up. I started crying.
NEVER again will I speak in public

of it would be FREAKY. :eek3: Did anyone ever see
"Hider In The House" or "Video Voyeur".Those movies
make me paranoid. If someone lived in my house and

My biggest fear is probably dying. I have always hated the concept of death and I think death is just horrible. Whenever I think of death, I think of what it is going to feel like to die, where you would directly go after death, ect? All of those questions pop into my mind whenever I think of death. Death upsets me tremendesly. I find it to be sad. :(

For me it's a tie between heights and spiders. Ever since I saw the movie "Arachnophobia" years ago, I have been so scared of spiders ever since.
By the way, DO NOT watch "Arachnophobia" if you have a fear of spiders. If you do, don't say I didn't warn you.

You might find the odd Midge in the far north of England, near the border, but the most part of England is Midge-free.
That is the one and only thing that is good about England!

I reckon this wee ditty is kinda appropriate - :D
'Scared of Bein' Afraid'
- by Ellen Degeneres.
When I was little,
5 or 6 or 7,
I lived at home with my folks.
I was scared lizards,
I was scared of spiders,
Scared of my mom’s ol’ pot roast.
Well now I’m kinda older,
I know I should be bolder,
Well baby, that just ain’t the case.
I’m scared of lookin’ foolish,
And though it may sound foolish,
I’m scared of gettin’ punched in the face.
Well, I’m scared of bein’ afraid,
I’m scared of bein’ afraid,
I’m scared of bein’ afraid.
They say the only thing to fear
Is fear itself.
But what about food
That’s been sittin’ too long on a shelf.
Well, I’m tired of sleepin’ my life away,
I’m crazy for bein’ insane,
I’m sorry for apologizin’,
But I’m scared of bein’ afraid.
Well I’m scared of bein’ afraid,
Well I’m scared of bein’ afraid,
That’s right, you heard what I said.
My throats dry, I need lemonade.
I don’t wanna eat a grenade.
I don’t wanna lead a parade.
Scared of bein' afraid
Look at me,
I’m shakin’.

I don't mind blood or heights, but guns freak me out too. A few years ago my class went on a trip to DC. We went to the FBI to see a "Demonstration of Arms" It was sooo scary. I kept thinking "this guy could turn around and shoot me if he wanted to" ahhhhh scary!

Oh and Mossopp, as for those bugs...you ever seen a Palmetto bug? I won't gross you all out by posting a picture here, I'll just cut and paste some info... they're in Florida mostly...
What is a Palmetto Bug?
Odds on, if you live in South Florida, you have already encountered a Palmetto Bug or two. What are they? Simply stated, a Cockroach. But not your ordinary run of the mill cockroach. No, they are nothing like the cute little creepy crawlies you see in Orkin commercials.
For one thing, Palmetto Bugs tend to be a bit larger then your average roach. I'm not kidding when I say that I have seen them grow to three inches or more. You may think cockroaches are gross, but the experience is much more vivid when all the gory details are magnified. As if that wasn't enough, Palmetto Bugs can fly! Yes, fly. You have never been creeped out, until you see a three inch roach fly up and land on the table next to you. And it gets worse, Palmetto Bugs aren't afraid of the light. You're just as likely to encounter one during the day as at night. The last little detail to distinguish the Palmetto Bug from your average cockroach is that they are armored. Step on one and you're lucky if you get its attention. You don't even get the pleasure of squishing one.
That doesn't scare me, I got divebombed by a german cockroach the size of your fist once...it just CREEPS ME OUT!

Mossop, that ditty by Ellen was cool. Does she have CD out or something?
As for palmetto bugs....I have seen them! :eek3: I get nauseous just thinking about them ('course I was the one who said cockroaches was my biggest fear, so it's understandable!) Therefore, I will not gross myself out by posting a picture. I'm just glad they don't bite. If cockroaches bit I think I would loose my mind. As it is I cry if I have to go head to head with one of the bitty American cockroaches (the littler ones). Good thing I have male roommates. Squishing cockroaches is one of the only issues where I don't mind acting like a whimpy girl and letting the men take care of it. :D But that's ok, one of my old roommates screamed like a girl when he saw a spider, so I would kill the spiders, and he gets the roaches. ;)
Mossop has inspired me to post a "wee ditty":
Palmetto Bugs by Joe Clark
Palmetto bugs, Palmetto bugs,
Skulkin' 'round like tiny thugs
Got some the size of area rugs
I'm talkin' 'bout palmetto bugs.
On spiky legs they climb my walls
Listening out for my footfalls
Antennas wave long-distance calls
To kinfolk rustling down the hall.
Palmetto bugs, palmetto bugs
Cleaning wings and looking smug
Makin' love in coffee mugs
I'm livin' with palmetto bugs
Brown eggs and turds in every drawer
I don't think I can take no more
They laugh and scuttle 'cross my floor
I'm buying Raid, declarin' war.
Palmetto bugs, palmetto bugs
Crawl up my neck and give me hugs
My neighbors say I'm doing drugs
But it's just them palmetto bugs.

Actually, that song was from an episode in series 4 of her sitcom called 'Ellen Unplugged' when she went to Rock 'n' Roll Dream Camp. Ellen performed the song on stage along with Arron Neville and Bonnie Rait. I dunno if you've ever heard her but Ellen actually has a pretty good singing voice!
Ellen does actually have a CD out cos I have it. It's called 'Taste This' but she doesn't sing on it - it's a recording of one of her stand-up shows from about 5 years ago. It's pretty funny so you should check it out. She probably has more that one CD available in the States but Ellen isn't massively popular over here and it took me ages just to find that one CD. I had to get it on import and it cost me 22 quid!!!
