You know that saying, "It's better to regret something you have done than something you haven't"? Do you agree with that? And why?
I agree with it. I keep going back to this one instance when I was in 6th year at school and I was so crazy about this person who was in a couple of my classes but I never told 'em cos I was too chicken and I thought "well, the feelings won't be mutual anyway". Now I really, really wish I'd said something cos the more I think about it the more I think that I really did have a chance after all. I'll never stop wondering what would've happened if I'd just stoppped being so stupid and just said something!!!!

In the past 24 hours, my biggest regret was going to the wrong place to get my car repainted (went to Maaco Auto Painting). I told them EXACTLY what color I wanted, but the dingbats still didn't get it right. It's been a really, really painful experience for me.

Ok, I guess I'll be the first person to actually address the question asked in the post. (Sometimes I get the feeling people only read the subject line and not the actual post).
Yes, I agree with that, in general. I agree because when you regret something that you have done, you can often learn a valuable lesson about yourself or the world in the process, and time heals most wounds. Of course, I suppose it depends on what you are talking about of course. Like if you killed 10 people and are on death row, you might regret that more than not asking out that crush in 6th grade, lol ;) But then again maybe if you had asked that person out you would have found that one true love and you never would have started on the self-destructive path that lead to you killing people in the first place, lol.
But in general, I think it would be bad to be forced to always wonder "what if?".

I agree.
I'm not quite sure how to put this... I regret not being courteous to an attractive girl. She was like three inches away from me, I knew what to say, how to say it, and I waited. I waited and she walked away!
I rather have said it than wonder why I didn't.
Regrets of what I didn't do keep me up at night more frequently than regrets of what I did do.

I agree. It's kind of hard to really regret something you never lived through vs. something you did.
I regret practically my entire college career so far. I swear it's been one bad decision after another.
For a long time I regretted being shy and not talking to this guy I had a crush on, but at my senior prom a friend of mine asked if he'd dance with me and he acted all snotty about it, and well, I FINALLY realized he was nothing but a jerk and don't regret that anymore. :)

I regret the kinds of friends I made back in 2nd grade+. I wanted to be with the clique and so I pushed all my other best friends away. And it's sorta a long story but...

Thanks for being the first person to actually answer my question properly. I see your point - to a certain extent it does depend on what the regret concerns.
But I wasn't in 6th grade - I was in 6th year - I was 17 years old. Matters of the heart are a bit more serious when you're in your teens then when you're in junior school! ;)

I agree with your question and the thing I regret is that there were these 2 boys at school and one of them kept telling me to ask the other one out, that we would be good together and I was to shy to ask him out and I was scared because what if he turned me down and the guy that was trying to fix us up kept saying he won't turn you down but I didn't listen and I wish that I would of went for it because he was a really nice guy but he has a girlfriend now.:(

I regret that I never went to my senior prom almost 3 years ago because I believed in that stupid "You have to have a date to go to the prom" rule. I think I really would have enjoyed myself, date or no date.

 Actually, I would have thought they would have been alot more than that. There are houses not too far from where I live (Ohio) that cost over a million. I would have thunk Beverly Hills would have been more than that.
And Mossop...sorry about the grade mix-up. Don't know how they do things over there. Here, 6th year would be 6th grade....or maybe fifth, if you count kindergarten.

S'ok.
Here, you start school at age 5 - that's Primary School. You go from Primary 1 all the way up to Primary 7. Then after Primary 7, when you're about 12 or 13, you go on to Secondary School (which, I guess, is the same as High School). You start Secondary School in 1st Year and you can stay right up untill 6th Year, some people leave at the end of 4th Year though. I stayed till 6th Year - I was 17 when I left.
There. That concludes your lessons for the day! ;)

You're right, many of them are. I saw ones that were $12 mil. I think I was looking at the cheaper side of town, or the outskirts or something. A house like the one I was looking at in my neck of the woods (Iowa) would probably sell for $400,000 maybe. Perhaps $600,000. There was no virtual tour so I couldn't see much more than the pool.
