How do you picture yourself in 50 years?

A famous actress, lots and lots of money, married to Lisa Whelchel's son, living in Malibu, and with a silver SAAB, and still looking as young as Tina Turner :D

JOBlairJOBlair:

Please don't talk like that! (I know that's easy for me to say!). You're only 12 years old (and will be 13 in March, right?). The bad news is that this is the most awkward and frustrating stage of your life. The good news is, once you get this out of the way in the next year or so (and you will!), things will get easier for you.

I felt the very same way at that period of my life. One particular situation that caused me a lot of misery was my 7th grade math teacher - Miss Petrillo, a miserable old bat! (she's dead now, so I don't care about mentioning her name). I was a very shy kid, who never caused any trouble in class, but for some reason, this teacher hated me. Nothing I ever did was right in her eyes, and she flunked me during the first marking period. I was devastated - I had never received a bad grade in my life before. I never said anything to my mom, becuase I figured she wouldn't believe me - you know, the old "the teacher doesn't like me" excuse. One day, one of the other kids mentioned to his mother how much this teacher hated me, and how she was always belittling me in front of the class. This kid's mom knew my mom, so she told her what was going on. Now for the funny part:

It turns out that when my mom went to the same school 30 years earlier, she had this same teacher (that's how old this teacher was!), and she was always tough on her too. My mom went down there and practically kicked down the front door - she had been waiting 30 years for an excuse to get a piece of that B***h! I don't know what she said to her, but from then on, the teacher couldn't be nicer to me.

That wasn't the end of my rough times and loneliness as a kid, but that was one time when things worked out in the end, and I thought you might get a laugh hearing about it.

Hang in there, kiddo - things will get better - you'll see!

I'm not sure. I can't imagine myself at 68. Hopefully still alive and well.

When I'm 61 I'll begin my dad by cranking up the hearing aide, polishing off the bifocals, giving my wheelchair a lube job, watching Matlock and In The Heat of The Night and of course talking about classic episodes of Reba and Malcolm in the Middle.

Hard to say... A lot can happen in 50 years...

In 50 years I'd be 67. That's not too unbelievably old. I hope I am as wise as Mrs. Garret, and have a good job were I can watch over my...Uh... girls? Ok, enough of that!

I plan on going strong well into my 80's. What I do between now and 67 will remain a mystery for 50 years.
