CBS is pulling How to Be a Gentleman from its posh timeslot behind The Big Bang Theory, but it's not totally giving up on the first-year sitcom (yet). The network plans to shift Gentleman to 8 p.m. Saturdays starting Oct. 15. That had been the timeslot where the Eye network had planned to air the new season of veteran comedy Rules of Engagement, starring David Spade. Now, however, Rules will get to follow Big Bang on Thursdays, beginning Oct. 20. While Gentleman will get to stay on the air a bit longer, CBS is being realistictic about its odds of survival: Industry insiders tell Vulture the show's original 13 episode order is being trimmed to just 9 half-hours. Meanwhile, ABC hasn't announced any decision on the fate of Charlie's Angels, whose three weeks of declining ratings make it an obvious cancellation candidate.

That's cool. Rules will start back up on my birthday. :)

I wonder if Rules will have a full season of episodes since it's getting such a late start.

Yes, it will. 2 episodes from last season have yet to air because the network ordered an additional 2 during the Sheen dilemma (making a 26-episode fifth season order), and 22 episodes have been ordered for season 6. The network will have 24 episodes to air this year between October 20th and May 2012, and that means we'll have 5 less weeks of reruns!

That's a good thing. :)

For some reason my cable menu still shows that Rules is on Saturdays and How To Be A Gentleman on Thursdays. The cable menu goes through October 20th. Hopefully that is just a mistake.

I think Rules will do much better on Thursdays.
