Jim O'Heir has said that it would be "amazing" if Bill Murray guest-starred on Parks and Recreation.
The NBC comedy is now in its fourth season and has seen notable appearances from Louis CK, Will Arnett, Megan Mullally, Justin Theroux and most recently Patricia Clarkson.
O'Heir, who plays Jerry Gergich, told Digital Spy: "I know that Amy Poehler's really, really trying to get Bill Murray to play Mayor Gunderson.
"We're all a huge fan, but she's a particularly big fan of his. I wouldn't be shocked, but I don't know either way if it is going to happen."
O'Heir added that he was delighted to have Clarkson on the show, suggesting that her character Tammy 1 may return.
"She could not have been sweeter," he said. "She's got a great reputation and everyone is enamoured with her work, so we were thrilled to have her on set. She was as wonderful as we had hoped she would be.
"I hope, hope, hope - and I'm pretty sure - that she'll be back at some point."
Parks and Recreation season four continues at 8.30/7.30c on NBC.
