I burned the outside of my hand when I was taking something out of the oven and I was just wondering if I'd end up with a scar.I really hope that it doesn't scar because I have enough of 'em as it is. :( This is the first burn that actually left a mark
on me.It didn't hurt that much, but the mark is pretty big and
noticeable.Do you all think it'll go away or leave a scar?? ;)
I know you people will probably think this is a dumb and
boring topic, but I'm sure there's been worst. hehe! I'm just
hoping someone will console me and say that it'll probably go away, but don't post that only to make me feel better, ok? :)

They fade with time. Wait 2 summers and winters. so like 2 1/2 years. You need to get tan, and then normal and then tan again and then normal. I have scars that I got 2 years ago that are MUCH less noticable now than 6 months ago...

Yeah, unless it is a real bad burn, if it's anything like the unfortunate burns I've had (while getting things out of the oven orr off the stove) then it will dissapear with time.

As pretty much everyone else has said, most burn scars fade with time. I got burnt really bad once by hot grease (I was dipping the french fry bucket into the grease), and that was a pretty nasty burn, but the scar faded completely in like less than 6 months.

If you put a dressing on it, it may help to minimize the scarring. However, be careful with what you use, because you can't use certain creams, etc. on burns.

Like they've said, the scars, unless severe, will fade with time.

Do burns scar?

Its possible that when you're talking about 2nd/3rd Degree burns occuring, you're talking about plastic surgery.

Other than that consult the local doctor. By law ALL Nations, Tongues, & Kindreds must be seen in the Emergency Room, so go there anytime...even if you want a date!

Seriously. For a dude named Pezzi, Kevin Pezzi wrote a book of ER stories that said just this.

Amen.

And when going to ER

Don't forget your checkbook.

Only really severe burns will leave a scar. From what you've said, your burn doesn't sound too serious. My mother works in a big kitchen and she has burnt herself taking things in and out of the ovens loads of times and they've always healed pretty quickly.

Mmmm...I only got burned badly like, once or something. By a curling iron. It didn't leave a scar

Well I've been burned numerous amounts of times and none of them have been serious but a few have left a mark. Like everyone else said it dependes on the seriousness of the burn. But in case it does leave a mark, you can try using coco butter or fading cream. They work pretty well and reduce the size of the burn.
