i remember a tv show back in the 80's where people would be lottery winners/have winning lottery tickets and people would have to go find them...does anyone remember what the title was???

I think you're talking about "Lottery!", which starred Ben Murphy. It aired on ABC 1983-84, and I believe it was one of the many sacrificial lambs scheduled opposite "Dallas".
