Good News! Christine Baranski to return to 'The Big Bang Theory'

Christine Baranski will return to The Big Bang Theory in a future episode.

The Good Wife star has previously appeared in two installments of the show as Dr. Beverly Hofstadter, the mother of Leonard (Johnny Galecki).

The Big Bang Theory's executive producer Bill Prady has now told TV Line that she will reprise her role in the future, saying: "Christine is absolutely coming back."

Prady also revealed that he is hoping to secure some other previous guest stars for the new season.

"We certainly hope Laurie Metcalf will be back," he said. "And at some point, we'll have to see Wil Wheaton again."

Metcalf previously starred in three episodes as the mother of Sheldon (Jim Parsons), while Wheaton has played himself on the show three times.

Leonard better be on his best behavior in 'The Big Bang Theory' season premiere because mama is back in town!

CBS announced 'The Good Wife' star Christine Baranski will be reprising her role for the first episode of Season 5.

Baranski, who currently stars as legal eagle Diane Lockhart on CBS's hit drama 'The Good Wife,' plays Dr. Beverly Hofstadter, Leonard's overly analytical mother on 'Big Bang Theory.'

The actress, who is currently nominated for an Emmy for her work on 'The Good Wife,' has received two nominations for her guest work on 'BBT.'

We wonder how Sheldon will react to the good doctor's return ...

'The Big Bang Theory' Season 5 premieres Sept. 22 at 8:30PM ET.
