I'm not African American, but I find it odd too. I was surprised that no one who responded to the race question is Black. Actually, I was kind of disappointed :(

I hope this doesn't change the way we are close-knit at the TC boards.....

Hey ThomasE...I got a question for you. I dunno if you celebrate Kwanza or not, but if you do, my question is-

What do the colors of the candles stand for? I knew but I seem to have forgotten. I'm just wondering because I'm very interested in African American History and culture and stuff...:D

Nope! Not at all, JT! It doesn't make a difference-we're all the same, race nor religion doesn't mean anything on these boards We're just all here to have fun and talk sitcoms!;)

i would never judge someone by the color of their skin...for 2 reasons...

1. cause it's just..wrong!

2. since my mom's so racist...it bothers me and i dont wanna grow up 2 be like that

Hi FOLrocks1! I believe you when you say you're not trying to be mean, but it never occurred to me to wonder about anybody's race on this board until I saw this thread.

For what it's worth, I'm a middle aged White guy.....hopefully that doesn't make any difference to anybody reading the things I've posted here over the last several months (it shouldn't).

People in this country keep saying that we should live in a "color-blind" society - but then a lot of those same people seem to make it a point to mention someone's race at every possible opportunity (I'm not talking about you, FOLrocks1 - just people in general). We all need to just relax - take people as you find them, and don't try so hard to be "Politically Correct" all the time.

I am not black or African American, but I have friends who are, from Ghana, Haiti, Trinidad, St. Vincent, Bahamas and even U.S. and Canada.
As far as color goes, I am color-blind (just for PEOPLE), as I look at your HEART.
Glad to know there are some blacks here, and I think it's great!

I'm not African-American or anything, but my uncle is from Cape Verde. What people have to do is look at who the person is actually on the INSIDE and not on the out. I mean, personally, I don't give a damn if your skin is green and your hair is silver. It's your personality, how nice you are, etc.

Actually I don't but I can always find out for you. I can hear some blacks now. "Whatyu mean you don't know what the candles stand for? It's part of your heritage". I really don't follow along with that. I just walk with more with God and not so much with tradition.
