Don't get me wrong, I am a huge fan of The Big Bang Theory, but was very disappointed with this past season. With everyone having a love interest; Howard & Bernadette, Sheldon & Amy, Leonard & Priya; the show has strayed off course and now appears to be a geeky version of Friends. The show was funny for me when it was four geeky guys interacting with one sexy blonde, Penny. Now there are too many female characters on the show. There were episodes this season that didn't even have Penny in them and others that she appeared almost as an after-thought or recurring character. It appears to me that they are destroying the characters and the concept of the show. It was more funny when Leonard had only dated 2 woman in his life, Sheldon ignores woman altogether, and Howard believed he was a love God but didn't know the first thing about woman. The episodes where the girls go out together and the guys go out together make it appear like two different shows. I hope they find their way back to the basic concept of the show.

There were two episodes without Kaley Cuoco (Penny) because she was in a severe horse accident that almost caused her leg to be amputated! It had nothing to do with new cast members.
