View Full Version : Kate's Wedding gown like or dislike?

What did all of you think of her wedding gown? I thought that it was very beautiful, regal and dignified. It was kind of like Princess Grace's gown back in the 50's but only more ornate. I didn't care for Diana's dress. It was too "froo froo" for my taste. Too much dress! But Kate dress was very classic. According to British protocol the royal wedding gown has to cover the shoulders and arms with little or no cleavage. Kate made an excellent choice and she will make a smashing queen someday!:)

Being that she had limitations and rules to follow, I thought that the dress was beautiful. I too thought of Grace Kelly when I saw it, both dresses are very similar.

I loved it. It was classic, timeless and showed off her beautiful figure. I just love the pageantry of it all.

She wore two gowns. This is the gown she changed into for the reception. I love this one too. Same designer, Sarah Burton.

I was expecting something more exciting.

So was I. Don't get me wrong, Kate's a very beautiful and stylish girl, but I think the dress didn't work on her. My mother and I are split on this issue - she loved the dress, and I was just, "ehhh". :lol:

I have one problem with Kate's Wedding Dress...

The top looked like her nipples were showing. (I saw this on the news last night when I was wondering what the Summer Weather will be....)

I loved her Wedding gown it was gorgeous. with a sexy Prince of a husband. He was handome in his outfit.

They were both absolutely glowing and obviously in love. Go back briefly to Diana and Charles' wedding. Diana is glowing and radiant and Charles is stiff and
kind of grumpy looking. Diana was so young and in love but he obviously was just doing his "duty". That marriage of convenience was a disaster from the get go! I have really high expectations for Kate and William. Blessings on them and their future.

Okay I'll be brave, and perhaps be the first to admit that I didn't like Diana's dress. It was too poofy and overdone. I didn't care how the train was separate from the skirt - just too much. I much prefer Kate's classical and sophisticated gown.

I didn't like Diana's dress either! But remember this was the 80's! :lol: Everything was BIG! I thought that the bodice of the dress looked like a clown's suit! If the top had been toned down the dress would have been spectacular! I too much prefer Kate's choice. So classy!
