if they had used no laugh track on the series(I presume they did)?

It wasn't a laugh track, it was an actual studio audience. I think people think a laugh track and a studio audience are the same thing when in reality they are not. A laugh track is a prerecorded track of a studio audience laughing that they then use at their leisure. A laugh track is what they used on Hanna-Barbera cartoons in the 1960s/1970s such as Scooby-Doo or The Flintstones. But Roseanne was shot in front of a studio audience.
