Does anyone know when TV Land is going to get rid of that red and blue ribbon by their bugs when the show is on? It's gotten really annoying for me and just about all the other stations have stopped that and gone back to their regular logos.

I agree! I have a few episodes of "The Love Boat" & "Charlie's Angels" that are pre-09/11, and that logo is so crisp and so clear! Hopefully the decide that starting tomorrow it goes away! I'm gonna ask the Link at the AOL TV Land Boards about this

I remember the old days when I had AOL and was a part of the NAN/TVLAND chat room and messgae board.I remember when the boards there had went down for a couple of months. Then the chat room closed down in Februrary this year......

According to the Link, they might keep the ribbon for an extended period of time. I wish they'd just show those commercials (I was looking through my tapes, and I saw the 'United We Stand' one, and that was a lot better then the logo change)

I agree too --- while it was definately a nice tribute to air after 9/11 -- I think it's a bit much to still be airing it almost 4 months after the fact. I turn to TV Land partly to forget about the problems in the world, but the ribbon (although its a nice tribute -- dont get me wrong..) is a constant reminder. There was one ultimate fan hour a month or so ago when they went back to the nice old logo... but the ribbon was back by the time The Love Boat aired that night..

Do you think maybe they have kept it for an extended period of time because the TV Land offices are in NYC and they may have had employees or relatives of employees lost in the WTC?

I say they keep it up as long as they want to, it does not bother me. If you choose not to watch TV Land because of that, that is a ridiculous reason.

Most everyone in this post is 12-13 years old, maybe when you are older you will think differently. I'm not saying your unpatriotic if you are tired of seeing the logo.

Isn't the Nick at Nite bug more obvious?

The ribbon looks fine in my opinion. I'm not as old as TJ,but I think if TVLAND wants it they should keep it.:)

The worst of the onscreen stuff is the:

Deadly Black Bar.

Yes TNN amazes me through the New Year w/an interface that makes WebTV look like a good idea. Usenet complaints number in the 100s over the thing.

I have boiled down the reasons for having it to 2 fundamental things:

A: "Branding" looks cool to the suits

B: Trying to er...save, make, buy, foolishly spend, etc the Real Thing. The $. The Bread. Or something like that.

Too their schedule is CheeseWiz. Which is 1 for bad, 2 for good.

Why?

Because one can see that Baywatch and the declining WWF (sans Ric Flair) among other things is BAD. 1 For Bad.

And one can also see that certain popular "Black Barred" shows like Wonder Years, etc were Too good for that network. 2 For Good.

Yes even the Rainman could rate TNN w/accuracy, though Babbett was the one who taught him the "counting cards" trick RE: 1 for bad & 2 for good.

I give them an:

F

N@N of course got a lowered grade in Spectrum Analysis over the fortnite from a solid B to a D-, due to "KSTDT" replacing "Strokes".

Till the morrow then.
