BTW - I didn't sleep thought the entire movie. I just dozed off briefly at one point. I know this is going off topic but I just want to claer up my thoughts on LOTR -
I thought the movie was very impressive visually. There's no denying that it looks amazing. But no matter how many amazing special effects you throw into the mix it doesn't change the fact that you are sitting there watching a story about wee munchkins and an old guy with a really long beard!
And it was an ass-numbing three hours long !!!! I tell you - about half way through I really started to regret drinking that jumbo Coke during the preveiws!! ;)
I guess you just really have to be into the whole sci-fi/fantasy genre to appreciate 'Fellowship...' The problem is, I'm not really into that kinda thing - the closest I ever get to that genre is 'Buffy' or 'Twin Peaks' so I'm afraid LOTR just left me really confused.

Aw man, there's so much more to the story than a bunch of munchkins and an old guy with a beard. I mean, look at Star Wars, that's bascially a story about munchkins(Jawas and Ewoks) and an old guy with a beard(Obi-Wan). But of course, you know there's so much more to it all.

Honestly, I was bored for about five minutes(the trip to Lothlorien. That elf dwelling in the woods. Cate Blanchett freaked me out). But I was deeply into it the rest of the time.
Funny about the Coke thing. I went to the bathroom twice! Well, once right before the previews started, but I had to wade my way through a bunch of people already by that time.

I can understand that some movie-goers could be turned of by this sort of thing, but so many others that I've talked to that aren't the fantasy buffs, loved it as well. Like my mother, and nearly every major critic in America. A shoo-in for Best Picture Nomination, no doubt.
Anyway, that sucks that you didn't enjoy it as much as I did. It was an amazing film, in my opinion.
