Kim Kardashian, Ryan Seacrest and Lady Gaga will live to tweet again, thanks to a pharmaceutical billionaire who buoyed a reportedly faltering campaign to raise money for children and families with HIV and AIDS in India and Africa. The campaign, conceived in part by Alicia Keys, had celebrities ditching their Twitter feeds and Facebook updates until fans pledged $1 million to resurrect their digital lives.

But after a week, fans ponied up less than $500,000, so Stewart Rahr stepped in and matched that amount. According to the New York Post, Rahr was drafted by stars who were frustrated and perhaps a little embarrassed by the slow place of donations: "It's the worst mismanagement of star power I've ever seen in my life," an insider tells the newspaper.

Other celebrities who can once again broadcast their breakfast to the free world: Justin Timberlake, Usher, Jennifer Hudson, Khloe Kardashian, Lenny Kravitz, Jay Sean, Swizz Beatz, Serena Williams, The Buried Life, Elijah Wood, Janelle Monae, Nikki Sixx, Kimberly Cole, David LaChapelle, Daphne Guinness and Bronson Pelletier.

i personally thought it was a terrible idea- they should've done a telephon for this, that way they'd raise more money. although as they are celebs, perhaps it is THEY who ought to donate their earnings to charity.
