I think the show originally was intended to star Kaley Cuoco & Johnny Galeki as the stars, but since changed a few times to becomemore of an ensemble to now Jim Parsons is the outright star. Agree? Disagree?

I think we have a Fonzie thing going on here. He is clearly the breakout star of the show and they do tend to focus more on him. Originally I would list Leonard as the star and Sheldon second. Now it seems Sheldon would go first on a cast lineup.

I had to bump this old thread. I just watched the past few episodes and basically every episode was VERY Sheldon-centric. I would say he's the star of the show.

I don't know about him being the star. Sure the show is huge because of him, but they also focus on all the characters in each episode. The difference is they show a storyline with him every episode, and then alternate in episodes with other characters. I'd say Kaley Cuoco is the star of every episode as well.

For me, it would beJohnny Galecki. Sheldon seems to be the iconic character that is popular almost similar to Suzanne Somers on Three's Company but John Ritter is at the top of the billing much like Johnny is on TBBT.

they have had a few Raj -centered and Howard -centered episodes lately, as well as those with Penny and Amy, but they haven't really done much with Leonard's character this season

(maybe that will change if they intend to get Penny and leonard back together again)

I think it is definitely Sheldon's show now. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Yes, Johnny Galecki is at the top of the credits but his characters is nowhere near as important to the show as... say Jack was to Three's Company. I think Leonard is actually the most annoying unfunny character the show has.

Johnny Galecki is top billed because when TBBT premiered nobody knew who Jim Parsons was.
