It is hard to believe that it will be 11 years soon since we were all waiting to be doomed by the Y2K bug. Does anyone remember what they were doing on New Years Eve of 1999?
I do remember that they started to talk about this back in 1997. In a post office where I used to live, they had a big countdown clock. On New Years Eve of 1999, I was at a relative's house. I was waiting for the lights to go out at midnight. My Dad did not buy into all the hoopla. When the clock stroke midnight, nothing happened and my father was right.
I was also told that they used to say back in the '80s that the world was going to end in 1984. Nothing happened. I dont believe in these sort of things anymore. Now they are saying the world is going to end in 2012. I dont thing anything will happen. I wonder if they will go through all this hoopla again in the year 2999? But I wont have to worry about it because I will be just a pile of disinegrated dust by then.
