Wasn't the change it settings for the Facts of Life actually going down a half way through its run? The only major change around the period that the show was starting out concerned the major over-haul with the cast. I always figured that the show will always be primarily known for carrying the school setting long before it started to get deeper into the now dated aspects of the 1980s.
