The cast of "Jersey Shore" has signed on for a third season, MTV announced Tuesday.

Production halted Monday when the castmembers refused to participate without first negotiating new contracts for more money. The show will continue filming in the next few days.

"MTV is pleased that the 'Jersey Shore' cast are returning to Seaside Heights to continue production on Season 3," MTV spokeswoman Emily Yeomans said in a statement.

"Not only have they become a part of the MTV family, but fans worldwide have fallen in love with them."

The cast initially requested $30,000 per episode for a 10-episode season, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The Miami-centric second season premieres on MTV on Thursday, July 29 at 10/9c.

Summer may be over for Snooki, The Situation and the rest of the gang, but "Jersey Shore" will soon be back to heat up winter.

The third season of the MTV reality series will premiere on Jan. 6, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"All the relationships start taking a turn, some for the good, some for the bad," co-creator and executive producer SallyAnn Salsano told the site about the new season.

"There are some new hook-ups both in the house and outside. They're still the same cast, but I think how they deal with situations is completely different."

Season 3 will not only play host to new hook-ups, but also to a new cast member. Snooki Polizzi's friend Deena Nicole Cortese joins the show to replace Angelina Pivarnick, who exited for a second time this season.

"She's a good time," Salsano says of Cortese. "It was hard for her to come in because there was a pre-existing relationship between everyone. There was literally no shortage of drama."

The second season of "Jersey Shore", which wraps Thursday, has proven to be a ratings smash for MTV.

The Sept. 30th episode hit ratings highs in total viewers (6.7 million) and the adults 18-49 demographic (3.4 rating, which surpassed the broadcast networks).
