My nose is stuffy but apart from that I'm ok. I'm actually pretty pleased that I've come this far this winter without being really sick. Normally I'm down with flu by mid-November.
Everyone who feels ill - I hope you get better soon!

I have been sick with Mono for about the past 5 months. During the summer I had laryngitis and strep throat. I now have strep throat again and still can't get rid of the Mono

My exbf had mono and apparently you deal with it for a year, so you're about halfway through it hun...remember sleep is HELPFUL to getting over it.

Personally, I have been fighting some odd thing since September on and off...I still think it's CFS. But this morning I woke up with my throat all mucousy and this odd feeling I was gonna pass out, so *shrugs* I never know when I'll feel good or bad anymore.

I am currently not sick, thank God. I consider myself fortunate because I rarely get sick (as in throwing up, upchucking, barfing, vomiting, spueing, ect). Sometimes I would catch a cold here or there but nothing very serious.

I have had Mono before. I had it for a year and a half last time. The doctor kept doing tests on me. He also said I could have it for up to five years. On the route I am going on, that's what it looks like.... It's sad. But the worst thing is you lose your appitite. I have lost about 20 pounds which makes me to be about 85 for a 12 year old girl. That's..*pondering for words*.. not normal. And my stomache is starting to contract because I'm not eating.

Here's what I would have to say about mononucleosis...AKA mono if I were a doctor and the writer of a website...

Missed parties. Postponed exams. Sitting out a season of team sports. And loneliness. These are a few of the ways that scourge of high school and college students known as "mono" can affect your life.

The disease whose medical name is infectious mononucleosis is most common in people 10 to 35 years old, with its peak incidence in those 15 to 17 years old. Only 50 people out of 100,000 in the general population get mono, but it strikes as many as 2 out of 1,000 teens and twenty-somethings, especially those in high school, college, and the military. While mono is not usually considered a serious illness, it may have serious complications. Without a doubt your lifestyle will change for a few months.

You've probably heard people call mono the "kissing disease." But if your social life is in a slump, you may wonder, "How did I get this 'kissing disease' when I haven't kissed anyone romantically recently?"

Here's how. Mono is usually transmitted though saliva and mucus--which is where the "kissing disease" nickname comes from. But the kissing or close contact that transmits the disease doesn't happen right before you get sick. The virus that causes mono has a long incubation period: 30 to 50 days from the time you're exposed to it to the time you get sick. In addition, the virus can be transmitted in other ways, such as sipping from the same straw or glass as an infected person--or even being close when the person coughs or sneezes. Also, some people can have the virus in their systems without ever having symptoms and you can still catch it from them.

Catch the rest of the info about it here http://www.fda.gov/fdac/features/1998/398_mono.html

**moo...who is scared she might be getting mono maybe if the CFS thing is negative**

My tummy hurts!!! :( :( :( Probably because I stayed up all night working on a term paper and drinking coffee. The sad part is, I've done it several times before. When will I ever learn...?
