Hey All,

What is the name of the episode that has Judy reading the classic, "Welcome Back Ms. Landers, Poem?:

Welcome back Ms. Landers
We're glad to have you here
While you were sick at home in bed
We all shed many a tear

We hope that you'd get better
And we'd see you by and by
And we're also very glad
That you did not die!

And I am also looking for an episode's name where Beaver is talking about Wally's appearance and he says something like, "Well, Wally, you are sure no Sal Mineo."

For the record, Sal Mineo was a 1950's-1960's teen heart-throb who was tragically stabbed to death in the mid 1970's. He was regarded by many as one of the nicest people they had ever met. The writers interjected a lot of real-life actors and situations on the show.

Post if you know the name of these episodes. Thanks!

Jack

I don't know that specific episode you're talking about, but Sal Mineo was referenced several times. Once was when Wally bought that junk car that didn't run. When he got rid of it, Beaver said he should have driven it over a cliff (paraphrasing) like he saw in a Sal Mineo movie. Another time Beaver said to Eddie, "Hey did anybody tell you you look like Sal Mineo?" Eddie, flattered, says, "Why, no!" Beaver replies, "I can see why!!" (Maybe it was the other way around and Eddie said it to Beaver).

Hi Jack,

I think the first eposode with Judy reading the poem was that episode called "Beaver and Ivanhoe" because I think after Beaver gets in trouble for fighting at the bus stop, Judy says something nasty to Beaver as Miss Landers walked into the room and Judy said something like I was just trying to help because you were out sick", or something to that effect. I'm like 99% sure it was this episode.

I can't help you on the other episode I don't recall that line at all so that tells me that it wasn't something from the 1st two seasons because I have the DVDs from Universal and had seen them time and time again. It's great to be posting with you again Jack! Did you order the DVD series?

A little too pricey to pick up the series all at once. So I will have to get them individually. But that's fine! At least they are coming out soon for those who can't afford the box set! I do have S1 and S2 from Universal!

You're welcome Jack! I know what you mean about not being able to afford stuff. I have both the Universal sets too, but I decided to start saving back in January and I had the money by the time I ordered it....in fact I only paid $120 from Barnes and Noble so I saved $80! I also couldn't bare the idea of having to wait for each season to come out after having to wait as long as we did after season 2 was released. I have to say Shout! did a remarkable job and I'm thankful I was able to save the money.
