Do you shut your computer off at night?

I don't. A guy from the IT dept where I used to work told me that it's best to leave it on, but to reboot here and there. I was also given opposite advice, so who knows. I found an article on the subject from Microsoft.

i usually always set them up to go into suspend mode - which is basically the same as off - but I only reboot or shut down when I need to.

The household computer I don't shut off much.

My laptop I shut off whenever I'm done using it.

I have a desktop Mac that stays on most of the time while I'm home. I usually turn off my laptop or netbook when I'm finished using it.

I use my laptop to watch stuff on Netflix before I go to sleep and it usually goes into power save mode after a short time.

When I first got my computer six years ago, I always turned it off before I went to bed (or if any severe weather was coming). About a year ago, I did start leaving it on at night, thinking it would save some time (again, unless any severe weather was coming).

I'm supposed to turn it off at night, because my parents want me to do that, to save the energy. But a lot of times, I manage to fall asleep with the computer still on.

I turn mine off when I'm done using it to save energy plus I turn off the power strip.
