As you all know, I have been looking for a job lately. I have had a couple of interviews, but they did not pan out. A friend of mine that is a bit older than me told me he was going to write a recommendation for me because he knows the guy that was in charge of what I applied for. I took the letter down to the BOE and they would make shure he go the letter. When I was over at my friend's house yesterday, we saw the man outdoors since he also lives nextdoor to my friend. I spoke to the supervisor and asked him if he got the letter. He said the the human resources department has to receive it first then he would get it. He even offered to go the the school and get it. I told my friend this information and ge started going into a rage. He said he was tired of helping people out and having it turn out wrong. First of all, he was the FIRST one to offer to do this for me and he was the FIRST one to offer to take me to get a few more job applications. Second, I did not know this is the way it was going to turn out (about the letter of recommendation). I NEVER even asked him to do any of this for me. He then went off on a tangent and was babbling about loaning people thousands and thousands of dollars and never being paid back. I never even asked him for one red cent. I wrote him a letter and told him what he did to me was uncalled for and I told him in the letter he made me feel awful. I saw him today and he was all nice, like nothing happened. I did not feel like arguing or saying hello to him, so I just walked on by and left, not even speaking to him.

I'm not sure I understand why your friend got upset with you. If he offered to help you in the first place, you would think he would be happy for you. Perhaps I'm misunderstanding?

OH Nuts!

The guy sounds crackers to me. But I'd go on the interview!

Maybe your friend just had a bad, overwhelming day. It happens. But he still shouldn't of snapped at you. I hope you get the job!

UPDATE
----------------
I sent him out a card last week telling him how sorry I was how things went and I sent him a friendship card. I got a card from him today (one of those thinking of you cards) and it was very nicely written.

ALL'S WELL THAT ENDS WELL. :)
