Boo! No, that wasn't "Casper the Friendly Ghost".
Rather, it's news that "Ghost Hunters", one of Syfy's most popular franchises, has been renewed for a seventh season.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the show has received a 25-episode order, the same as season 6. As usual, Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson, leaders of The Atlantic Paranormal Society (TAPS), will return for more investigating.
"Ghost Hunters" is the network's longest-running program. The paranormal investigation series has captivated viewers since its premiere in 2004, prompting two off-shoots, "Ghost Hunters Academy" and "Ghost Hunters International".
Ratings for season 6 averaged 2.6 million total viewers, helping Syfy to win "GH's" timeslot.
