View Full Version : Police shooting tragedy in my hometown
On Friday, December 7, a man in my hometown(St. Charles, MO)
was shot dead by police officers when he refused their orders
to drop a gun and instead aimed it in their direction. This took
place at the end of a high speed pursuit through the streets of
St. Charles, started when he refused to stop for police who were
attempting to pull him over after he reportedly brandished a gun
at a motorist who cut him off on First Capitol Drive. Do you think
the use of deadly force was justified in this case? Do you think it
will be necessary for there to be an investigation into the
shooting? My answer to both questions is yes, but there may
be other people who think differently.

I must have missed the local news that day or else I would have heard about it. That does sound like a tragic case. I also think that under the circumstances the police did the right thing but that there should still be an investigation.

I'm not sad. That saves me some tax dollars. Too bad the police can't shoot all criminals.

Thats plain sad, but yeah if he was aiming it in there direction he might then start shooting, so yeah the police did the right thing...

Also, I am a christian and I believe all life is sacred. More of us should be like Lisa Whelchel, who is a fine woman with fine
christian principles who would never wish that people would
die, even people who do bad things.
YEAH more of us should be like LISA...ahem.. moving on... I'm used to this sort of thing. Try living in Springfield. I don't know if I mentioned this before, but out of 350 of the most dangerous cities in the U.S we came in...36. Pathetic. In the past year we have had 2 cops shot, one who has died, the other who is ok now. But as for your case... that's just sad. :(

Don't call police officers pigs. It is an insulting name to call the
men and women who defend our streets from crime at the cost
of their very lives. I bet you wouldn't be sad if a police officer was
killed in the line of duty. And it is not brutality for a police officer
to kill a person in self-defense, it is a justifiable killing.
I've seen where the pigs beat innocent people to the floor with clubs. I wouldn't be one tiny bit sad if someone killed an oink, I should kill 'em.

I know you hate cops, but what if one ever saved your life?!? You know, not all of them are bad. That's insulting the people who walk the streets and keep you safe. If there were no cops in this world, it's like there would be no order. Sure, some cops may be a bit...um I don't know the right word for it, but still.

For those of you that think PO are pigs and that they should shoot all criminals...well that is sick. PO save people's lives EVERY DAY! They risk their lives for other peoples. And the fact that they should shoot all criminals is disturbing. What right do they have to kill people unless it is absolutely needed to save their and other peoples lives. You guys need to honor these people. What happens if you needed to be saved by a PO one of these days!?!?! Look at all the PO that have died over the years for things that aren't their fault...things that would have never involved them if the weren't PO. Look at all of the ones who have helped after Sept 11!! That is all I m gonna say b/c I don't wanna start a HUGE fight...but NO1 diss PO.

im sorry
i guess i would be sad, but if it was in the 1960's period i dont think i would be because most police in that period killed many innocent people and viciously beat people based on the color of their skin
