ATTICA, Ohio (AP) — A school outing to an amusement park in Ohio turned into a thrill ride itself when authorities say the driver of a charter bus drove into a ditch and was charged with drunken driving.

No one was seriously hurt in the crash Friday morning. State troopers in northern Ohio say a few of the 12 students suffered bumps and bruises.

Authorities charged the bus driver, 46-year-old Ronald Williams of Columbus, with child endangering, driving under the influence and operating a commercial vehicle without a license.

The students from the Columbus suburb of Hilliard were on their way to Cedar Point amusement park when the bus went off the road near Attica in Huron County.

After the accident, the students got on other buses and continued on to the amusement park.

I'm sure none of these kids thought the ride to the amusement park would be their scariest ride of the day! I don't understand how someone without the proper license and who was also under the influence managed to get behind the wheel of this bus. I would assume there would be some sort of mechanism in place to insure this kind of thing couldn't happen! Apparently not!

If I were one of those kids, I don't think I would enjoy the day at the amusement park after what happened. At the very least, he should lose his job.

It would be pretty tough to revoke something he doesn't have in the first place! But he should definitely not be allowed to make a living driving any kind of a vehicle in the future.
