What shows should N@N take off of the air?
Here is my opinion:
1.Beverly Hillbillies
2.Brady Bunch
3.Laverne & Shirley
4.3's Company[it is just to 'stupid' funny]
Probably more that i can't think of.

1: Laverne & Shirley [It shouldn't be on if Happy Days isn't]
2: Andy Griffith [It's only on like twice a week]
3: Beverly Hillbillies [The worst time]

Sooner or later there will be only late 70's and early-mid 80's shows on N@N. I feel Andy Griffith, Hillbillies and Gilligan are the 3 that will be gone next. Laverne & Shirley maybe too, but that could just move, maybe TNN??

I don't care if Laverne and Shirley gets cancelled because it airs on my local WB statio, but anyways, they should have taken it off when they took Happy Days off.

I think they should have a strict 5-year rule. 5 years on N@N, no more, no less, unless the ratings are so bad their losing money on it. That would mean I Love Lucy needs to go, but not Gilligan's Island, or FOL, or DS, or TBH or L&S. L&S shouldn't go until 2003, when it's been on for 5 years. How come it should go now? Hmmmmm? It's not like it's getting in the way of all your favorite shows, it's on a 3 or 3:30 am or whenever. It's only been on for 3 years, God knows how long they've kept Lucy. God, I don't know why no one appreciates L&S anymore. It's a GOOD SHOW. Maybe you don't think it's the best, I'm fine with that, but I am damn sick and tired of everyone saying it needs to leave. Because it doesn't. Come 2003, I'll be ready for it to leave, but until then I'm just going to ignore every person who says "it sucks" "it needs to go" "It's been on too long" "It's just a dumb Lucy rip-off" (No, I'm not getting all of this from this board, from various places), and I'm going to hope I don't lose my sanity. What's that you say? If Happy Days isn't on L&S shouldn't be? Hmmm? So Happy Days shouldn't have been on in 1996 or 1997? It came to N@N before L&S did, naturally it should leave before L&S does.

pavanbadal, I was just thinking about Laverne and Shirley moving to TNN last night--pretty weird, huh?! I can see it happening too with The Wonder Years and Taxi leaving. It would fit in nicely I think.

I think they should take everything off. It all sucks. They are treating Lucy horribly; they should move it now instead of waiting until October.

The Facts of Life and Diff'rent Strokes. They should be moved to TV Land. That way we will be able to see the controversial episodes.

I think that Laverne and Shirley and Gilligan's Island need to be moved to a more viewable spot. The Brady Bunch has been in Prime Time for so long. My ideal sked would be:
8:00-Laverne and Shirley
8:30-Gilligan's Island
9:00-Diff'rent Strokes
9:30-Facts of Life
10:00-Three's Company
10:30-Three's Company,The Ropers or Three's A Crowd
11:00- All in the Family
11:30-The Jeffersons
12:00-I Love Lucy
12:30-Beverly Hilbillies
1:00-Laverne and Shirley
1:30-Gilligan's Island
2:00-Diff'rent Strokes
2:30-Facts of Life
3:00-Three's Company (Sundays-THree's A Crowd or the Ropers)
3:30-All in the Family
4:00-The Jeffersons
4:30-I Love Lucy
5:00-Beverly Hilbillies
I would proboly have more Twice-As-Nice Episode.

I think they should change their schedule completely, I mean they run two in a row of the same show and they don't get to fit my fave shows in, Gilligan's Island, Beverly Hillbillies,I Love Lucy. Those are great shows. I think THEY SHOULD TAKE OFF THE BRADY BUNCH! It's been on very long and always at the best time slot, it should come off! It's one of my fave shows but they have to take it off it's just been on so long it's not fair for the other shows that came last year and all.

I have to respectfully disagree. I never even watched Nick until I found out they acquired Facts. Facts, Diff'rent Strokes and Three's Company are the only shows I ever watch on the channel.

Okay I think they should take off Three's company, and the beverly hillbillies could be moved to TNT right after The Dukes of Hazard. I personally think they should eliminate the twice as nice so they can put more shows on. I too love the Brady Bunch, but it has been in syndication way too long and if they drop it another station will pick it up so they should drop it. Also, I love lucy is one of my favorite shows, but they could move it to TVland. I think they should put on better shows like Welcome Back Kotter, Doby Gillis, and perhaps put Rhoda back on.

to Nick at nite. tis not about which shows they like and wanna take off its about the ratings... Brady Bunch and Threes Company have been leading in the ratings on Nick so why take em off?

The Beverly Hillbillies is moving to TV Land so could it be possible Silver Spoons could move in?

They would have to buy the rights to Silver Spoons. Another channel might still own the rights to it, but hasn't shown it in a while.

It's real simple. Nick should become a 100 % sitcom channel by creating another toon channel or snick for the kids. During the daytime older sitcoms would be shown with the evening reserved for the newer sitcoms. I know that TV Land attemps to achieve this, but they have a screwed up schedule too with many repeats. There's just too many dumb kid productions clogging up Nick. The Noggin channel would be a good home for Snick or "whatever" you call it.

The "kiddie programs" pay for N@N, or at least a portion of it. Personally, I would like the Brady Bunch to be moved back to 8 and that would open up another time slot for N@N. Brady Bunch would be a nice way to tie up the kids programs while leading into the N@N programming. I want All In The Family moved to TVLand only and the Jeffersons following it since they go together. I like both shows, but All In the Family is sucking up time on both networks. I'm happy with what N@N is picking up in the next year. Nothing to complain about there!
James

N@N should get rid of:
1. Three's Company
2. I Love Lucy
3. The Beverly Hillbillies
4. The Facts of Life
5. All in the Family
They should have stuck with their schedule in 1998 consisting of The Brady Bunch, The Wonder Years, Laverne & Shirley, and Happy Days. Those four are among the best shows ever made IMHO.

why is it that there is such an anti-70's and 80's backlash by some people? It is shows like Facts Of Life, Three's Company, Diff'rent Strokes and the impending acquisitions of Cheers, Family Ties and The Cosby Show that have gotten many more people watching. When I was younger, most people my (then) age and in their 20's wouldn't be caught dead watching Nick. Yet now, a lot of people in their 20's (all ages of that range) and early 30's who did not watch Nick 5 years ago watch it to see shows like Strokes and Facts that WE grew up with, not shows our parents dated on (like Nick's original lineup), not shows that our older brothers and sisters watched (like early 90's), but OUR shows.
I'm glad Nick brought Facts and Diff'rent Strokes back. Those are two shows that should've never been in the sitcom graveyard in the first place. Both shows deserve to be like Mash or Andy Griffith and have been in constant rotation ever since they went off.

Yes to killing Gilligans definately; most everybody has seen it millions of times already. It seems to be a favorite "filler program" for the networks like TBS, WGN, USA, etc.
Yes to No Bev Hillbillies. Too out of place in the present Nik scheme I believe
Andy Griffith. Same as above, the few shows they're on now are the more mediocre color programs. In short I ask is it Black/White or Color. If its in Color that means No Barney. Click http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
No I Love Lucy. The evangelist Benny Hinn said it best. When you need help you cant turn to Lucy. In all seriousness this also is out of place on Nik.
Laverne & Shirley same thing; its a good combo w/Happy Days.
And leave out a few hours of those 'Niktoons" while they're at it! There is a bizarre glitch that renders Friday Prime Time meaningless where they:
Take off Brady Bunch 8:30 PM EST
Diff'rent Strokes 9:00 PM EST
Facts of Life 9:30 PM EST
and show the aformentioned "rating killer" cartoons (well killers for all demographic groups except 4 the kiddies) This indeed is bad.
IMO these older shows should be on a dedicated vintage sitcom channel that could show them regular. That's it.

I honestly think that they should take off All in the Family and move it back to TV Land...that leaves an opening for The Facts of Life! But probly the next sitcom they will get is Night Court because NIGHT COURT was on Thursday Nights on NBC, also. You think?

Wait! Isn't Nick at Nite JUST
1. Cosby Show
2. Cheers
3. All in the Family
4. Family Ties
or am I missing something? (I don't watch Nick at Nite much because they edit shows too much now and don't have enough variety.) Is the weekend line-up the same as above? Brady Bunch, Giligan's Island, I Love Lucy, all former Nick at Nite shows are now exclusively on TV Land. My honest opinion is that N@N sucks. I predict within 5 years or less it will become a combination of Cartoon Network and that new channel carried on some digital systems....Noggin (A 24 hr. kids network) Nick at Nite is not necessary because everything is on TV Land now.

Nick@Nite will be facing a change/ make over sometime within the
next 5 years, thats my guess. A 24/7 Nickelodeon may very well be a reality someday.
What Nick/Viacom SHOULD do is merge Nickelodon and Noggin into one channel. Noggin is commerical free ( to my knowledge )
and usually that doesnt last in this day and age of money hungry networks. Turn what is Noggin now into something like "TV Land Classic" ( like they did with vh-1 ) and show only shows from the 50s & 60s. This way the younger generation can sample the older shows like Lucy ( I Love Lucy and The Lucy Show ), Beaver, Mr. Ed, Dobie Gillis, Route 66, Donna Reed, Bachlor Father, ect... as well as give airtime to the many shows from that era that no longer are seen on tv anywhere. Heck they could even bring back Ed Sullivan and the 50's Dragnet.
Move all the current Nick@Nite shows to what is now TV Land
and in the process turn that channel into a 70s-80s TV land.
Add in shows like Alice, Whats Happening, Gimmie A Break, Facts of Life, Simon & Simon, A-Team, ect...
90s shows? Give them to the "new" TNN and TBS. Since Viacom owns them too.
I agree that for the most part Nick@Nite isnt needed thanks to TV Land, but believe it or not there are some cable systems out there that still do not offer TV Land. THose folks I feel sorry for if Nick@Nite is all they get besides TBS and TNN.
