Kyle MacLachlan to Leave "Desperate Housewives"

We've always known that Wisteria Lane isn't the easiest place to live, but lately it seems as though residents are running for the door (or in this case, wheeling).
Following the departures of series regulars Drea de Matteo and Dana Delany (her pilot, "Body of Proof", has officially been picked up by ABC) the Ausiello Files is now reporting that Kyle MacLachlan, who plays wheelchair-bound Orson Hodge, will be making his exit from "Desperate Housewives" when the show returns next season.
His farewell doesn't come as much of a shock; Sunday's season finale saw long-suffering Orson leaving his wife Bree (Marcia Cross) after she gave in to a blackmail attempt, although sources indicate that he'll return for a couple of episodes next fall to tie up loose story threads.
MacLachlan has seen his storylines pushed to the back-burner for much of the past two seasons, playing second-fiddle to a plot that saw Bree embark on a torrid affair with town sleazeball Karl Mayer (Richard Burgi), before a fight with Karl left Orson confined to a wheelchair and gripped by depression.
