SOUTH BRUNSWICK, N.J. - Hunger has made us all cranky from time to time right? But a man in New Jersey, literally took matters into his own hands when his food order was taking too long.

According to NBC New York, a customer crawled through a McDonald's drive-thru window to get his fish sandwich, after slapping an employee in the face.

"His Filet-O-Fish was taking too long at 4:30 in the morning," said South Brunswick Police Detective Sergeant James Ryan to NBCNewYork.

Authorities say the man assaulted the employee, took his food and then took off in his car, NBC New York reports.

Police are still looking for the cranky customer. No word on if he enjoyed his sandwich.

You'd think he would have slapped them after eating the sandwich. I mean, it is McDonald's, y'know!

People who work graveyard shift eat their lunch in the middle of the night. I know because I worked the graveyard shift for many years.

I went to McDonalds at 10:00 in the morning one time and ordered McNuggets and they wouldn't give them to me because they were only serving breakfast. It's strange that they serve lunch at 4:30 AM but not at 10:00 AM.

I agree, it's strange. We have 2 McDonald's here that are open 24 hours, and both start serving breakfast at 4:00AM and won't serve lunch until 10:30AM.

The ones here in town start breakfast at 1 am and start lunch at 10:30 am.

I don't know what time they start serving breakfast here. I do know that the doors are locked at that time of the morning. The only thing that is open at ours is the drive-thru window.

All our McD's in town have 24 hour drive through, and believe me they get busy during those overnight hours

It's odd - all the Mickey D's around here in NE Ohio open around 5 am and close at 11 pm. I've never been able to figure out why - when in other parts of the country they are open 24 hrs. Weird.

By the way, Charles (Zoneboy), we're all waiting for one of your classic photobucket masterpieces!!! :D

Restraunts, especially ones known mainly for their burgers, should have lunch/dinner served all day.

I'm a night owl and have worked several late shift jobs. Everything here closes at 10, except McDonald's, so I ate there quite often, LOL ;)

I had seen this on the news. And they said it was felony assault with a possible sentence of up to 5 yrs if they find him.

There's a good chance they will; when I saw this on the News they had a pretty good video recording of him.

Yes, the video camera doing it's job. I think all businesses should be required to have cameras for that purpose.

He may be facing a simple assault charge, but rumor has it that the D.A. wants to to super-size it.

A burger without meat? A friend of mine once worked at Mickey D's and was working the window when someone requested a Big Mac without meat (). But in this case, he requested no meat, unlike you. Bizarre.

I got that when I worked there a few times. Sometimes they would ask for a tomato slice instead of meat. I just assumed they were vegetarians.
