Last night I went to the corner store and bought a pack of Wrigley's Spearmint (not the 5 stick but the bigger 15 stick).

I opened the package and noticed that the gum is now wrapped in paper instead of foil.

This must be recent because I must have bought gum maybe 2-3 weeks ago and it was in foil.

Anyone else realize this? I know this is random and not really important.. lol.. but I didn't hear of any reason for this.

I like Wrigley's Big Red but haven't bought any lately so I have no idea if the gum is now in paper. Fruit Stripe gum has been wrapped in paper for as long as I can remember.

I buy Extra Winterfresh gum regularly and they use paper now instead of foil. Wonder why?

I don't chew gum, but if they've change from foil, my guess is that it's cheaper.

I did notice sometime back that the larger packs of Wrigley's use paper. The smaller packs still use foil. I bought a case of 5 packs sometime back at Sam's and the sticks were wrapped in foil.

I think it's because paper is recyclable. It's an enviremental choice by the gum companies.

The only time I chew gum is if I'm on a plane. I'm not a fan of gum.

I haven't chewed gum in 10 years. Wasn't it paper with a foil backing? I remember as a teen when I did chew gum I would try to get the foil off without tearing it.
