I think that this is a wonderful series. I think that the comedic talents of the wonderful Ellen DeGeneres are really shown off here, and, while I wouldn't have minded if her character were gay, I do like that it doesn't revolve around her sexuality (gay or otherwise), like the last season of "Ellen" had.
I think that this is a wonderful forum in which several very comedic actors and actresses (Martin Mull, Ellen DeGeneres, Cloris Leachman, and more) are able to combine their skills into one wonderful product that brings us many laughs once a week.
NOw, I couldn't begin to compare anyone to the wonderful Lucille Ball, but this series certainly does seem to fit Ellen's persona as well as Lucy's character fit Lucille's persona (or, at least, how we envisioned her persona). I have always thought that Allen DeGeneres was a wonderfully funny comedienne, and never changed my opinion, and am just so happy to see her on television again.
