Has anyone seen that one mystery where Matthew McConaughey portrays a man who is violently murdered by this child molester.

The mystery starts off with a woman in her bathroom and suddenly she sees this man in her mirror. She rushes at him and starts screaming and kicking him and gets a gun, begins shooting at him and he runs off. Later, they go into this story about some of his previous crimes, including this one where Matthew McConaughey plays a man who witnesses the molester, approaching some children with his pants down. Matthew McConaughey gets into a fight with him and the man begins shooting him in the chest. The man goes back to his truck and gets a rifle to finish Matthew McConaughey off. This story is one of the most memorable mysteries in the way they recreate it. After seeing it, you really have a feeling that this man is a cold hearted killer who needs to be put to justice.

Yes, I remember that segment. But it was only recently when I realized that it was him. Well, you gotta start somewhere.

Those who've seen the segment in recent years have probably seen the update of it, which says the killer was caught soon after its December 1992 broadcast. He went to trial, was convicted, and sent to 70 years in prison (he'll be over 100 years old before he gets out, so he'll most likely remain in jail until he dies).

I remember that segment so well! I was so angry. I'm relieved to hear that man was caught!! (I never noticed that Matthew M. was in it.)

That case was the scariest I've ever seen, in that you really felt the killer was cold-blooded. The worst was when he shot the Matthew M. guy with a pistol, walked slowly back to his pick-up truck, got a rifle and began shooting at him again. He was caught a few minutes later, and brought back to the crime scene by the police. When the victim's sister (a tiny, high-school cheerleader) saw him she began slapping and punching him. The police had to hold her back, she was so angry.

I'm glad the authorities later tracked him down.

I remember that story, as well. One of the few moments when I wanted to jump through the TV and kick that guy's butt.

The son was played by Matthew McConaughey?? I never noticed! The only other actor I recognized on a an episode of US was the guy that played George Frankly in 'Mathnet' from the Square One TV series on PBS. He played an attorney questioning a suspect on one episode, and has been on others from what I have heard.

I recognized him right off the bat!
That case REEALLY angered me as well as creeped me out because it took place near where I live, and the first time I saw it was at night! I am SO SO SO glad that the guy was caught and is in jail!!!!!!!

I was watching the Tanya Koprick segment the other day, and I noticed Holmes Osborne (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0651660/) playing one of the Professors at the school where Tanya's boyfriend (and murderer  ) was kicked out. If you don't know who I'm talking about, he played Donnie's Dad in "Donnie Darko." Strangely enough, IMDB doesn't list UM in his credits, but I know for a fact it was him. He's got a very distinctive face. :)

I've never heard of him or that show. I looked at his IMDB profile and didn't recognize ever having seen him in any of those shows. But the MM episode is sad because the person MM portrays is a marine. I just don't remember if he was out of the corps or if he was home on leave

Me too. Seeing him in there took away from the segment, initially.

I was talking about the "Holmes Osbourne" dude. Where do you think I live under a rock? You'd have to be blind not to recognize mr. penelope cruz ;)

Do you think he walks around prison naked? Edward Bell, not Mr. Penelope Cruz

I swear to God, I will die a happy boy if I never see this segment again. Lifetime used to show it WAY too much. The fact that it is on the "Bizarre Murders" DVD and that there is a continuing current thread about it makes me want to hurl. :)

They say Chesters in prison have a very difficult time, even hardened criminals can not stand the thought of violating children. I hpe he's getting beat up every day, or worse...

I didn't know Chester was slang for child molester. I feel sorry for boys named Chester. They must suffer in school.

I'm sure he doesn't mind dropping the soap.

Yeah, but if he's a chester, he likes it when others drop their soap. Anyway, does anyone know what prison he went to?

I think it would be difficult to find out which prison he's in; you'd have to know his prison ID# or other personal info, like DOB. I forget what all is required to get info on prisoners, but t's not easy, even when it's a family member. (If I remember correctly, you can't even send mail without their prisoner ID# -- well, you can send it, but it's not delivered.)

My advice is to forget him. Replace that anger with something else; it's not easy, but I'm working on it and it has made a difference in my life. I know, no one asked for my advice.

And I have to agree with the person who said they'd be happy if they never saw that segment again. I don't watch it anymore. I just feel grateful that Bell was (eventually) caught & convicted, and I change the channel. But my heart will always go out to that family.

Everyone take care!!
