The two biggest literary sensations of the last decade have been Harry Potter and Twilight. I really enjoyed the Harry Potter novels, though not the movies, but really hadn't been that interested in reading the Twilight books. They just seemed like they are a little too Generation Y for me. However, I've gotten a bit curious about Twilight and have borrowed my kid sister Megan's copy of the first book to see what all the fuss is about. :)
So which do you perfer, Harry Potter or Twilight? I guess I am going to have to wait to vote.

I am not into Fantasy and I find Vampires rather boring.

There should be a "both" option on this poll, b/c that's what I would've picked. I was an HP fan first, but I borred my cousin's copy of Twilight and was sucked in. I had never been into vampire stories or anything close to it before, but I really got hooked on the series. I like the Twilight movies, too. New Moon nearly made me Team Jacob, or at least Team Taylor (the actor who plays Jacob in the movies).
Anyway, that's my 2 cents! :)

there should've been a neither option because i don't care for either one of them.
i am a generation y-er but i have no interest in seeing twilight, new moon etc or any of those movies. i'm not one who bought into the hype, nor can i see what the fuss is about either.

When I was referring to both Harry Potter and Twilight in my post, I was thinking more along the lines of the books and not the movies. I really enjoyed the Harry Potter novels, but didn't much care for the movies.
My sister Megan, who is 26, is a Twilight fanatic. She has everything associated with Twilight. I borrowed her edition of the first novel so that I could read it. I was interested in hearing what everyone thought of the Twilight novels in camparison to the Harry Potter novels, I guess.

Read some of the Harry Potter's. None of the Twilight. So I guess I can't vote. :(

You can vote if you want to, Brandon, just vote for Harry Potter. :)

Well if you're going by the books I can't vote because I only read the first book and I didn't read any of Twilight.
I read The Philosopher's Stone when the first movie came out and I just didn't get into it. It wasn't bad but it was 900 pages long and I didn't feel like continuing reading the books. I wasn't that into it.
If you're going by the films I like them both equally. I'm not overly obsessed with either franchise but to me they're good for a night's entertainment. I personally don't see them as anything to go crazy about.
So.. that's why I didn't vote.

I only read the first HP book and I thought it was too long. I have read Twilight and New Moon and both books are ok. I agree with JamesG they are great for a night's entertainment and I have never been extremely crazy about either franchise.

I LOVE Twilight, the books and the movies!
I like the Harry Potter movies, but hated the books, so my vote is for Twilight.

in that sense, i still don't care for either of them. never read the books, or seen the movies and i don't plan to.

I read the first 52 pages in Twilight tonight. I don't think its as good as the first Potter book, but it is an entertaining read and I am enjoying it. :)
