I'm sure I'm being overly dramatic here calling this a miracle, but the most amazing thing happened. I posted this on the complaint board but I wanted to give the whole story...

Last weekend I was out of town and brought along two Netflix movies. I finished watching one of them really late at night (or rather very early in the morning) and put it in the envelope to mail it back. The next morning (Black Friday) my husband and I were getting ready to go to breakfast. The only thing I remember is picking up the movie from on top of my laptop and moving it to my nightstand in the morning so that I'd remember to mail it.

While we were at the restaurant, I realized that I had forgotten to mail it. We went back to the hotel after we ate and I went into the room and was "horrified" to find that it wasn't on the nightstand. So for the past week, I've been a complete basket case wondering what happened to it. I reported it lost in the mail two days ago to Netflix even though I was sure I didn't mail it.

So anyway, Netflix graciously "apologized" (for my mistake.. imagine that!), and sent us another DVD from our queue the next day.

Today I got an email from Netflix saying that they had received the missing DVD! How cool is that? I am completely serious, yesterday on the bus going to work I was stressing out SO much over this. I think some kind soul must have found it (I did email the restaurant and the hotel about it) and mailed it for me.

I've been having a bad week, so this was just the thing I needed.

That's a happy ending. There are still some people who commit acts of kindness for others.

I wish I knew who mailed it back so I could thank them personally, but I'll just "pay it foreword" I guess! If I found a letter that was addressed and stamped, I'd mail it, too. It's hard to know whether or not the sender wanted to wait to mail it if it's just found randomly. And I'd rather know that it got to the recipient than worry about it being lost somewhere.

By the way, in case you're wondering... we were in Spokane, WA and stayed at the Davenport Hotel and had eaten breakfast at Frank's Diner. Cool place!

That is a sweet little story. It would be a wonderful world if everyone was as gracious as the person who mailed it for you.

Very nice story. It made me smile...and giggle a little at the part where you're so stressed out about it. Losing something like that would drive me crazy too.

I am forever losing stuff, so you'd think I'd be used to it by now! It's just the "wondering what happened to it"!
