Metallica Comment on Missing Girl Morgan Harrington
by Chris Harris

Morgan Dana Harrington, a 20-year-old Virginia Tech student who was last seen wearing a Pantera shirt, a black skirt and boots, and hasn't been seen since Metallica's Oct. 17 gig in Charlottesville, Va., is still missing. And now, Metallica themselves are asking anyone with information about Harrington's whereabouts to come forward to police.

"We are deeply concerned about the disappearance of Morgan Dana Harrington," who is blonde and blue-eyed, Metallica writes on its Web site. "She was not carrying I.D. or a cell phone. Morgan was separated from her friends shortly before 9 PM at the venue, and police have been searching the area since Monday. We encourage anyone who has any information regarding Morgan's disappearance to please come forward. Our thoughts are with Morgan and her family for her safe return."

Meanwhile, hundreds have joined an online Facebook group, dedicated to finding Harrington.

Virginia State Police are also asking anyone who may have taken video or photos from Saturday's Metallica concert to review the images, to see if they show Harrington, an education major. According to one of the missing girl's friends, Harrington left the arena before Metallica came on stage and did not rejoin the people she came with. Her purse and cell phone were later found outside, and Harrington's car remains in the venue's parking lot.

Police are following up on dozens of tips, and are canvassing the area around the venue, in search of any clues.

"We have no evidence that a crime has been committed," said Lt. Joe Rader of the Virginia State Police during a press conference Monday. "It's unusual that we haven't heard anything from her friends or family regarding her whereabouts. That's the biggest concern currently: her whereabouts and her welfare."

Morgan's father, Dan Harrington, told reporters he expected his daughter to come home on Sunday. When she didn't show, he knew something was off. He described her as a "really great kid. She loved music and occasionally went to large concerts. She was an artist and liked to read."

On Oct. 30, Metallica will be joined by Ozzy Osbourne at Madison Square Garden as part of the 25th anniversary celebration of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

I pray they find her alive, but I have the feeling this won't be a happy ending.

As I sat on the web listening to Metallica I remembered about that case from a few months ago where a girl disappeared after attending a Metallica concert.

I then went to look for an update...

Now three months later Morgan Harrington is still missing.

According to the Virginia State Police's investigation they say she was most likely abducted since she was "not the type to run".

Her official website where you can go for more info. is here - http://findmorgan.com/

I was just reading on FoxNews.com that human remains have been found on a Virginia farm. They haven't been positively ID'd yet, but Morgan's family has been notified. So tragic :( I will never understand how someone can purposely take another person's life.

My husband told me they found her. I remember when the story happened. She got separated from her friends, went out or something and they wouldn't let her back in. Not letting a young girl inside with all the nuts in this world; it's on them as far as I'm concerned.

Exactly. I hope they're happy now.

Last Wednesday (Jan. 28th) the body found in the field was officially identified as Morgan's.

I still find it very bizarre that I happened to have Metallica playing and then suddenly remembering about this on the day her body was found.

Here is a news piece on the confirmation of the body - http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20339923,00.html

Sick bastards. I hope these scumbags who did this to her fry in hell, and thanks to the wonderful ever-so-vigilant security dolts who refused to let her back in.

How exactly was she killed?
That is currently still under investigation, if you - AHEM - click & read the link that JamesG posted. Right now, VA police are treating this case as a homicide.
