This thread might be a good place to post some of the lesser-known celebrations, as well as the well-known. I'll name a few.

National Grandparent's Day -- Celebrated the first Sunday after Labor Day.

February is Black History Month.

September is Pain Awareness Month.

May 12th is Fibromyalgia Awareness Day.

Not really celebrated or known outside of the Motor City area the night of Oct. 30th is "Devil's Night".

It was notoriously known as a night for arson and one could expect to see the city red.

Nowadays the citizens say that they are not going to put up with this and the arson has greatly declined in recent years.

But, "Devil's Night" is still acknowleged in the Motor City and not really much elsewhere.
