So, if you registered prior to the beginning of the year, you should be familiar with the old logo:

And you're probably familiar the current main logo. But how exactly the final logo was settled upon? That's the story, through images, of a graphic designer with several bad ideas - whose good components would ultimately come together.

Various bits of the logo concept art:

I like the sparkly ones too, especially the one that says, "All sitcoms, all the time."

Which is why it's confined to that post. I wanted to show off the stuff, good and bad (in most cases, the latter) that gets chucked out along the way. I mean, seriously, a square logo? But notice - in the 2nd version of the awful square logo is the font I wound up using.

And the horrible "sparkly" logo? It's the first time I thought to repaint the "old" TV and use that. Not to mention it was the first to use the All Sitcoms tagline, which may or may not be included in the main logo when the 10th anniversary part drops off.

The last four are the best.

I dunno, I like them. They have some sort of a retro feel to them.

Was the one that we now use the original one?

I've been referring to the forums as SitOn for a while now... too bad it never caught on.

That's interesting, to see how it unfolded. The sparkly ones are nice, but remind me of Bewitched for some reason.

I like the sparkly ones myself.

That's exactly what I thought when I saw them, I don't know why, but that's what they remind me of :happyface

I can see what you guys mean. Between the font and the stars, they're very similar.

I like the ones with the retro looking TV's the best. With the many members of SO that are fans of older shows. The logo's with the HGTV TV's end up looking really out of place IMO.
