As you all know I have a Facebook page and I'm sure those of you who are friends of mine have noticed that I'm addicted to it.

Well, the other day I decided to see which people in my senior class (high school-class of 1986) had Facebook pages. I sent out a few friend invites to people I knew pretty well. One guy in particular I don't know well at all, though. The last time (and the first time actually) I spoke to him was at our ten year reunion. He was the valedictorian and the reason I spoke to him was that my husband wanted to see what the guy had been up to.

When we were in high school this guy had bone cancer and ended up having one of his legs amputated. He is so impressive to me because he missed a ton of school but still ended up being valedictorian. When I talked to him at the reunion, I found out that he has a ton of degrees from MIT and Rice which are amazing schools. He was really nice, too.

He accepted my friend invite the other day which really flattered me because I didn't know if he knew who I was. I was reading his page today and I kept seeing stuff about his chemo treatments.

After curiosity set in, I read his blog and it appears as though he has cancer again, only this time it's a different kind. It sounded like colon cancer but I could be wrong.

Anyway, I am absolutely devastated to hear about this. He says he is doing much better but I'm really scared for him. I mean, he has to be around my age (42 or so) and to think that he has to go through all this again is just heartbreaking.

I never really knew him in high school but I heard about his cancer. I didn't go to our 20th reunion, but now I kind of wish I had. I posted a note on his wall so that he'd know I was thinking about him.

How awful! I'll say a prayer for him. He sounds like a strong person.
