Recently, I was viewing an episode of ARREST AND TRIAL called
A SHIELD IS FOR HIDING BEHIND (from the ARREST & TRIAL BOX SET).
Something in that episodes was VERY familiar. It was the 2nd LEAVE
IT TO BEAVER house. The family in this episode lived in the very same
house. Everything was identical(not intentionally), including the scenes at the front door (and
the address of 211). Inside, each room was set up and decorated the
exact same way. I'm sure few would notice this, but if you're a
LITB fan, it's very obvious. How odd to see another family living in the
Cleaver household. Rather disconcerting, actually.
Did the Cleavers move out without telling us?

The two series were in production at the same time, and I'm guessing both on the Universal lot. The show must have just borrowed the exterior AND interior sets for a day's shooting.

Perhaps the Cleavers were away on vacation and rented out the house!

The second cleaver house was also used by the Marcus Welby MD star Robert Young.

The two series were shot on the Universal lot, but not at the same time. Leave It To Beaver was canceled at the end of the 1962-63 season, Arrest And Trial premiered in September, 1963. The former LITB set was still part of the Universal Studios tour when I was there in 1973, so it's easy to believe everything was still just as the Cleavers left it after perhaps only a few months.
