Any Frank Zappa fans?

Never really seen him mentioned on these boards and I was curious if anyone was a fan.

If so,what is your favorite album or albums?

I listened to Frank a bit way back in college, and even saw him 2 times on the 1988 tour, but not until recently have I really delved into his extensive catalog. I'm still going, it seems endless.

I used to own a cassette of "Tinseltown Rebellion"; and in general I find Zappa to be very creative, playful and interesting. He's not in my top ten but I really appreciate his uniqueness and perspective. There will never be another one like him that's for sure!

I like some of his stuff. The song that is probably my favorite is "Valley Girl" which his daughter did. I love it because she pronounces her name exactly like I do "Ahn-dre-ah" Like, totally!!

Ahhh, many times listening to Dynamo-Hum and other classics in friends' basements. I really like his music, but I saw him in concert in 1976 and he sucked. Probably the worst concert I ever attended - and I had floors, 15th row back. Could barely see him the entire concert. Remember, this was the days before the big jumbotron screens at the back of the stage. He decides he's going to sit down on an amp for basically the entire concert. Then everyone decide to stand up to try to see him.

My brother had the Hot Ratz album which was good too.

Never a fan growing up, but the past year, I've seen quite a few Zappa Plays Zappa shows, and started getting into his music that way. I think Dweezil and company do a fine job with Frank's music.

I mostly like his early stuff when he was still with the Mothers of Invention. His first record Freak Out is a classic. Other than that not really. Some of his later stuff I like, but Zappa has always been too avant guard for me.
