cartoons on NBC

When did they stop showing Cartoons on NBC? wasnt Alvin and the Chipmunks on it? on sat mornings, they show TNBC, for teens, i watched it once, and i thought it was pretty boring. Why did they stop showing cartoons?

It was a few seasons after they started showing "Saved by the Bell", which started in 1989. After that became a success, they decided to drop cartoons and focus on teenaged sitcoms. I know that "Wishkid" was one of the last NBC Saturday morning cartoons. My guess would be 1991 or 1992.

Yeah, 1991 sounds right. The last cartoon season on NBC basically consisted of:

Spacecats
Yo! Yogi!
Wish Kid
Chip & Pepper's Cartoon Madness
Alvin & The Chipmunks go to the movies (I think. This may have been cancelled the season before)
Pro Stars
Saved By the Bell
