I have received many scam emails in my time, but I've never gotten one that took this approach. I'm 99% sure that it's a scam, but on the otherhand, I've heard of people really doing stuff like this legitimately, and so there is that little part of me that wonders if this could be legit. I know I probably sound like a gullible moron to you all, but I've always believed in miracles, so I don't automatically rule stuff like this out as being a scam. Anyway, here's the email. The name of the person has been changed, and I'm leaving her contact info out for obvious reasons, but here's what the email basically says.

God Bless, My name is Mrs. Anne Conway Stevenson I am a dying woman who have decided to donate what I have to you/ church. I am 69 years old and I was diagnosed of cancer of about 2 years ago.I have been touched by God to donate from what I have inherited from my late husband to you for the good work of God.I have asked God to forgive me and believe he has because He is a merciful God.I will be going in for an operation later today.I decided to WILL/donate the sum of (Seven Million Five Hundred Thousand Dollars.) to you for the good work of the lord, and also to help the motherless and less privilege and also for the assistance of the widows. At the moment I cannot take any telephone calls right now due to the fact that my relatives (They had squandered the funds I gave them for this purpose before) are around me and my health status. I have adjusted my WILL and my lawyer is aware.I wish you all the best and may the good Lord bless you abundantly, and please use thefunds well and always extend the good work to others. Contact my lawyer with this email:

A few years ago I got something similar from a girl who claimed was lost in Africa and had no money to get back home, and was asking me to help her. I just deleted the letter.

You should do the same thing.

I'd say a prayer for the woman and delete the E-mail. Sounds like a scam to me. If she really wanted to donate the money to a certain church, she should deal with them directly.

Personally, I wouldn't fall for it.

I got a similar email from a guy in England a few years back. I figured it was a scam right away.
