Batman: Arkham Asylum enters Guinness Book of Records
Submitted by Joe Lee on September 4, 2009
The latest Batman title, Arkham Asylum earlier received the biggest PR boost ever after it claimed a Guinness World Record for “Most Critically Acclaimed Superhero Game Ever.”
Arkham Asylum’s record, (giving it an average score of 91.67) based on an aggregate of review scores from around the world seems a little dubious given that world records are usually a matter of fact rather than based on opinion, but Guinness World Records seems to have made an exception.
There’s no denying the game’s worth but an award for “Most Critically Acclaimed Superhero Game Ever,” seems like a bit of straw-clutching given the lack of brilliant, or even equally as good superhero games in the past.
That said it’s a brilliant coup for the Eidos PR team and developers Rocksteady, who we’re sure will be getting a few nice bonuses.
The game is currently sitting pretty atop the UK all-formats games chart.
