Max Payne 3 is the third installment in the Max Payne video game franchise due for a release on Feb. 26, 2010 for the PS3, XBOX 360, and Windows.
The game is set 12 years after the second one. Max Payne is no longer an NYPD officer and has now taken up residence in São Paulo, Brazil where he does private security contracting.
His new life becomes threatened when an opportunistic Interpol agent blackmails him into spying on his employer and his family, the DaCostas, who Interpol believe to be heavily involved with GS, a crime syndicate responsible for drug trafficking and arms smuggling.
Max becomes entangled in a dangerous web of lies and deceit that threatens to finish him off once and for all unless he can keep GS, Interpol and the DaCostas at bay long enough to escape his dire situation.
Max Payne was released in 2001.
Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne was released in 2003.
The motion picture was released in 2008.
