Oscar winner MATT DAMON is set to be honoured for his film career at an award ceremony next year (10).
The actor, whose career took off following the success of 1997's Good Will Hunting, which he wrote with pal Ben Affleck, will be feted with the prestigious American Cinematheque Award, reports Variety.
The ceremony is scheduled to take place in March. Previous recipients of the award include actor Samuel L. Jackson, who accepted the statuette in December 2008, and Julia Roberts who was lauded in 2007.

I'm sure there are some older actors who have actually had a full career that these people could honor. Don't these people realize they are devaluing their own award? I suspect there are many older actors who are feeling more than a little insulted right now.

I'm probably not the only one who absolutley hated "Good Will Hunting" . That was an awful movie! I can't understand why people think it's so great. I lost some respect for Robin Williams after seeing that crap!

I totally agree. That movie was a HUGE disappointment - didn't live up to its hype at all.

I think that is pretty stupid. I could see if he was 10-15 years older.

If he'd found the cure for cancer, AIDS, etc. at age 38, THEN I could understand, but not this.

I thought Good Will Hunting was alright. It wasn't bad but it's not the masterpiece that some regard it as.

Hunting was GOLD compared to this "comedy"...

Stuck on You just plain sucked. It's the worst movie of Kinnear and lifetime achievement winner Damon.
