Despite a so-so summer showing, ABC is sticking to its decision to bring back "Better Off Ted," reports Tim Goodman of the San Francisco Chronicle.

ABC Entertainment President Stephen McPherson acknowledged that the network had run new episodes of "Better Off Ted" this summer with the hopes of cultivating an audience.

Unfortunately, the ratings were poor. "We would have definitely liked a better performance, but I do think we're going to put on really good [episodes] in the fall, and that's going to determine whether the show works or not."

I'm just glad ABC is giving it a chance to grow.

It gives me hope that they'll give the new Wednesday comedies a chance to find themselves and grow!

How rare and refreshing to see a network give a sitcom an opportunity to grow and build an audience. It's nice to see.

But it sucks that they are waiting until January to bring it back. I probably will be HEAVY into the Office by that time nd that can only mean one thing.
