With her dated-yet-hip look and suspicious enthusiasm for car insurance, the star of Progressive's TV commercials is an unlikely celebrity. But you're not alone in wondering: Just who is the Progressive Auto Insurance woman? Her real name is Stephanie Courtney.

The Geico connection: And don't forget about Flo's arch competitors: Geico's gecko and cavemen. Not to stir up conspiracy theories, but it turns out Stephanie is no stranger to the Geico cavemen...

Interestingly, in 2008, Courtney landed a small role in two episodes of ABC's Cavemen, a sitcom based on the much-maligned Neanderthals from the Geico commercials.

Stephanie Courtney, sounds like a made up name to me. If it is her real name it's got to be the most made up sounding real name since Missy Gold. :rolleyes:

Seems to be a real name - not stage name at all. Altho she is married now to a guy named Scott Kolanch so she would be Stephanie Kolanch in real life if she opted to take her husband's name.

Actually Missy Gold is a stage name. Missy's real name is Melissa Fisher.

Well I obviously have too much time on my hands because I decided to see just what the love child of Flo and the Geico Caveman would look like. I made this picture using an online baby-maker site. LOL!

:brent LOL! I was thinking the same thing when that popped up on the baby-maker website! That is one scary looking baby. I think it is a girl since it has the pink background. I think it is safe to say Flo and the Caveman should not reproduce. :eek:

I still say Missy Gold qualifies as a real name. Missy is short for Melissa and Gold was her legal surname, I'm such a sore loser anyway. :lol:
