I'm concerned about Little Mel (Brad)

He hasn't been here or on Facebook for a few days and I don't recall him saying he was taking a trip or just allowing himself some away time from online stuff. Needless to say I am getting very concerned about him and what he may be going through. Janice, have you or anyone else been in contact with him? I know several of us are quite worried and maybe even scared to what Brad may do or has already done. I just don't like feeling like this, like maybe I'm an overprotective butt-insky who is over reacting to things.

I'm concerned about him too. I just called his house and left a message. I don't know what to think at this point. The last time we spoke he was upset about a few things. Seems some people who couldn't fight their own battles, were using Brad as their muscle and mouthpiece. He's a gentle soul and not the type for that drama and bullsh it. The guy was half out of his mind. Poor guy had a heart attack and has emotional issues and that still didn't stop some people from barking orders at him.

I've been really busy with work, but I've been checking both Facebook and here and Brad's nowhere to be found. Last time I talked to him was on the phone during the last heat wave in the Pacific Northwest and he told me he would read a portion of a story I told him about that he sounded really excited about.

He told me about the people who were playing footsie with his head, and we talked about a lot of different things. He even told me about a revoutionary treatment he was excited about receiving very soon - he had high hopes for it helping him out big time. It really sucks when people decide that it would be fun to kick around an innocent guy's head - especially when that innocent guy happens to be one of my friends. I'm really really hoping Brad hasn't done something rash.

Brad, if you're reading this, please come back to us, your friends here on SO. We're all worried sick about you and we miss you terrible!

I also have been very worried about Brad. The last time I chatted with him he seemed to be really down. Over the last couple of months Brad has been through more than any one person deserves to. :( I hope and pray that he is okay.

That is just disgraceful. Brad is one of the nicest and kindest members of SO. He has never gotten involved in any board matters before. He has never gotten into any kind of fights. I totally agree with you, Janice & Sonny. Brad is one of the nicest people I know, and stays drama-free, in how he runs his life. He has gone through so much, heart attack, being treated unfairly and wrong. The last thing he needs is one more thing to deal with, instead of just living his life, and enjoying time with friends and the people that love him.
Very well stated, Kyle. Brad and I have been close friends for over five years, and never once had an issue, until recently. It was over before it started, but it says something, in the timing of it all.

That's one of the very frustrating things about internet friendship. Unless you feel comfortable with (and are allowed access to information allowing it) more personal types of contact, when someone you know and like disappears, most of the time all you can do is wait and hope for the best.

I'm just glad there are people here who have actual contact with him. He's one person on this board who understands how I feel because he often feels the same way. I don't believe anyone has heard anything from Brad for a week or two - the last time he posted something on Facebook was on 8th August, so almost two weeks ago.

The last time I talked to Brad was on the 3rd of this month. He was very upset and mentioned that his mother wanted him to go to the hospital because she was so worried about him. Some of his roommates were being pretty rough on him and it's really gotten to him. Brad is one of the sweetest people I know and I hope he comes back soon. I tried calling him myself, but the line was busy. :(

Does Brad have a mobile (a cell phone)? (I'm assuming those that have called him are calling to a house phone.)

Maybe he's taken his mother's advice and checked into a hospital, or maybe he has done as Janice suggested and just gone away on his own for a while. It's natural to still be worried though. I hope someone hears from him soon.
