When does the new school year start?

I have to go back the 26th. The kids don't start until September 1st. I can't believe the group I started with are going to be high school freshmen :eek:

Kids go back the 24th, but I have 3 meetings next week.

The oldest group I started with are going into 8th grade. Time flies!

My sister's first day of school is August 24th. Seems strange that she will be in 10th grade. When I registered here in April 2002 my sister was in 3rd grade, wow!

I start back on the 26th, one step closer to getting my degree, at least that's what I keep telling myself ;)

I went back last week...August 5. The kids started Wednesday, Aug. 12. I am exhausted! School starts earlier and earlier every year!

My first class of first graders graduated last year! I feel so old!

I will start my grad school work on the 24th. I'm doing it part time so it won't be too bad. My nephew starts kindergarten on the 19th.

Fall semester starts September 3rd. Summer semester ended today, so I actually get 3 weeks off!

You guys must have a lot more vacation days. If I was still in school, my first day back would be on the 26th, with school ending May 27, 2010. Your kids start two weeks before we do here but get out 9 days earlier.

That's actually pretty late for my school to be starting/finishing... I started my senior year of HS on August 26, 2002 and graduated on May 23, 2003, so I started school the same day but graduated four days earlier. :D

School in our county started this past Mon. All the other counties in our state start in about 2 weeks.

I go back September 8th. For some reason, my college gives us a really long summer break (we get off in spring around May 15th). I'm psyched, though. I can't wait to go back to school :)

Here in Michigan a couple of years ago they passed a state law that K-12 students dont start back to school until the day after Labor Day. Why didnt they have this when I was in school?? We started back the last week in August. :mad: :mad:


Colleges also start the Tuesday after Labor Day,so I dont go back to school until then.

When I went to school as a kid in NJ, we wouldn't start until the day after Labor Day, also. Of course, we wouldn't get out for summer vacation until June!

Yeah, that's how it was for me before I went to college.
