View Full Version : Do you answer your cell phone if you ARE on the toilet?

I know it's a silly topic, but I thought I'd ask anyways. Yesterday at work, the guy that works on our computers was sitting on the toilet. I knew it was him because when I went in there, I recognized his shoes. Anyway, his cell phone was ringing, and he didn't dare answer it. I don't know if it was because I was in there and he knew someone would recognize his voice. You don't want to miss an important call, but you don't want to be embarrased either. Me personally, I don't know, I probably would turn my phone off if I had to. It is embarassing, but I don't think I could talk on the toilet in a public bathroom.

I try to refrain from using my phone in public unless I absolutely need to. Some of us still like our privacy :D

DITTO!! One of my major pet peeves is people who use their cell phones in the ladies' room. That is just disgusting. puke:

If it's my husband or boss, then yes. Anyone else? No.

Just about every woman in the building where I work uses their cell phones in the toilet on a regular basis, so it's nothing unusual.

I don't think I've ever had anyone call me while I'm in a public toilet but if they did, I probably wouldn't answer it there. I don't think I would feel comfortable speaking to someone on the phone in a public bathroom. I don't exactly know why.

I rarely use public restrooms and I have never had a call while in one of them.

OH Nuts!

One of my pet peeves is people who talk on their cell phones in the checkout line, or when they are so loud you hear every word of their conversation.

That's how I feel too. I also feel the need to get away from the phone regularly.

Some people just don't care. I have walked into many restrooms hearing people talk on the phone while on the toilet. One time, I went into a Wal-mart restroom, and there was one guy on the jon, talking spanish on his phone!

No, I have never used my phone when I'm in a public stall. I usually try to make my time there go by quickly, so a phone conversation isn't on my mind. ;)

I totally agree! Ugh!! It goes on ALL the time in my office. I've brought my phone into the restroom before and I can't even get a signal in there! I usually just go out into the hallway if I need to call someone. If someone calls while I'm in there I wait till I'm finished!

No, I don't answer the phone when I'm in the bathroom. Not even at home.

I'm glad this was brought up again because I find this ridiculous behavior very rude, not only to the others in the restroom but to the person on the phone! It's bad enough hearing people's cell phone conversations on the bus in the morning and afternoon, you'd think the bathroom would give you some peace and quiet! Guess not...

It's bad enough when people are talking on a phone and you don't notice and you think that either they are talking to themselves or to you and they're not. Can you imagine how freaked you'd be to suddenly hear someone in the next stall talking? No thanks...bathroom is a get in, get out place.

I rarely use public restrooms. I could say I probably wouldn't.

As for my own place, I usually always keep my cell phone on me so if I happen to be in there and my phone rings I'll answer it in the bathroom if I want. I have talked on my cell in the bathroom before.

If the house phone rings I wait until I am finished and then check to see who called.

Same with me. Sometimes I feel like my phone is glued to my hand because it's always with me.

What I really find rude is when I'm with a person and they answer their cellphone and have a lengthly conversation while I'm sitting right there. And don't get me started on Texting or E-mail
